Rail Tech Training Host Prince's Trust Ceremony

Here at Rail Tech Training we have teamed up with the Prince's Trust in order to deliver a unique youth training programme for young unemployed people who are interested in working within the rail sector.

It was designed for candidates to firstly achieve competence in track safety through the attainment of a Personal Track Safety Certificate (PTS), required to work on or access the rail network.

The program was then tailored to develop skills and enthusiasm for the rail industry, delivered through a three week hands-on programme of training.

During the three weeks, candidates spent time at Rail Tech Training Academy and TES2000 learning about various topics such as railway signalling, operating small plant tools and experiencing working on real life railway jobs.

On 5th June Rail Tech Training hosted a ceremony day in order to congratulate the students for their achievements and hard work. Certificates were presented by Rail Tech Group managing director: Mr. Simon Jamieson and Regional director of the Princes Trust: Mr. Graham Ball.

The event was a success and the students had the opportunity to meet some influencial people within the rail industry and demonstrate what they had learnt over the past three weeks. Now that the training is over, we are placing the successful students on a 13 week paid job placement programme.
