Rail Tech Training host RIA meeting

“Members of RIA’s Signalling & Telecoms Technical Interest Group were much impressed by the indoor training facilities of Rail Tech, who hosted October’s meeting in Ipswich. After a technical overview by Professional Head of Signalling Gary Brackley of the various systems installed at the site, members particularly welcomed the opportunity for hands-on interaction with the equipment and control systems. The key presentation at the meeting was by Network Rail S&T Programme Engineering Manager Chris Binns, who gave a briefing on his role and NR’s future signalling strategy, including ERTMS and modular signalling.
