Rail Tech Group “East of England’s Best Medium Sized Employer”

Rail Tech Group celebrate their award as a National Training Award Winner 2008Rail Tech Group were delighted, surprised and extremely proud to be voted East of England Best Medium Sized Employer as part of the UK Skills National Training Awards held in Cambridge on the 25th September.
Although nominated as a finalist for the awards, run by UK Skills for companies across all UK industry, the decision of the judges, selected from many different industries, came as a great surprise to those who attended to represent the Rail Tech Group.

The regional finals held as a black tie dinner at the Guild Hall in Cambridge, hosted by Colin Jackson (MBE) were well attended with representatives from a wide range of different companies and organisations from all over the East of England.

There were varying categories of award recognising both innovation and investment from large to small organisations from across varying industries.

Simon Jamieson, Managing Director for the Rail Tech Group said after the event "Although hopeful we did not expect to win any particular category. This is a major achievement and I would like to thank all those who attended and took part in the process that has given us this prestigious title that recognises our continued investment in the training of our employees”.

The National Training Award panel felt that the Rail Tech Group training programme was unique in that it offered an open entry system leading learners to become technically qualified as IRSE licensed signalling engineers.

During the audit the judging panel were particularly impressed with the partnership that Rail Tech had created with West Suffolk College and that through this it was able to provide NVQ qualifications and IRSE licensing to both internal and external customers.

Rail Tech is continuing to further its training portfolio through diversification in various areas including: Telecoms, 17th Edition Electrical and Construction Courses.
