Principal Contractor to Network Rail for all S&T Enabling Works on the Trent Valley Four Tracking Project
Rail Tech Group achieved a 500 day accident free record on the projectRail Tech Group can look back on their Principal Contractor role for all S&T Enabling Works on the Trent Valley Four Tracking Project and regard their input as a huge success. Rail Tech were highly praised by Network Rail throughout the scheme that was in itself part of the £8 Billion upgrade of the West Coast main line. The Trent Valley project focused on the doubling of the railway to four tracks along a 19km section between Armitage with Handsacre and Tamworth to remove a major bottleneck on the network.
In its role as Principal Contractor to Network Rail, Rail Tech provided dedicated signalling teams and management to undertake a variety of signalling functions ranging from new works installation to complex cable diversion works. As part of the role Rail Tech provided fault team cover that reduced project delay times, all of which were controlled by Rail Tech’s Contractor’s Responsible Engineer (C.R.E).
Over the project period Rail Tech were asked to undertake the W179 re-signalling package. This involved new works installation of track circuits, point machines and signals within a four mile stretch of track.
