In Partnership with West Suffolk College

West Suffolk College has formed a partnership with Rail Tech Training for the delivery of City & Guilds Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships in railway engineering at our state of the art training facilities in Ipswich. Simon Jamieson, Managing Director, Rail Tech Group, and Martyn Wagner, Vice Principal, West Suffolk College, met to sign a Partnership agreement in July.

Martyn Wagner, Vice Principal at West Suffolk College, said: “Working in partnership with businesses in the East of England is one of the many ways in which West Suffolk College can support training and development of the engineering workforce in the region.”

“This an exciting time for Rail Tech and West Suffolk College,” said Tom Toolan, head of Employer Responsiveness (Automotive, Engineering & Manufacturing) at West Suffolk College.

The scheme satisfies all the requirements of the Institution of Railway Signal Engineering Licensing Scheme, which allows appropriately qualified railway engineers to work on the railway system infrastructure, including signalling equipment. The courses involved are City & Guilds NVQ 7588 in Railway engineering as part of Railway Engineering. Training and development for the City & Guilds NVQ in Railway Engineering and Institution of Railway Signal Engineers Licence will be undertaken.

We are an accredited provider of signalling engineering expertise. Our company has built a reputation as a reliable dedicated and highly skilled sub-contractor. We place great emphasis on the need for a high degree of competence from all members of the team, from assistant installers to directors, and the need to constantly measure personal competence against individual development plans.
