Margate Cable Renewals / Track Slew

To facilitate the line speed upgrade in the Margate station area it was necessary to the slew the down main line leading into the station itself over a distance of 300 yards. The existing cable route contained 50 year old lead multi-core power cables controlling the station area going South. Rail Tech Group’s involvement in this project consisted of correlating all affected cables, installing new beta ducting into affected locations and relay room, preparing new cables ready for changeover under SMTH, producing change over lists and planning possessions.
