Environment
Companies are often criticised for the damage and nuisance they cause to the surrounding environment. This damage may take several forms such as excessive noise, pollution from dust or spillages of harmful substances. Most people accept that everyone on site should follow environmental good practice. It is always more beneficial in the long term to follow good practice rather than risk damaging the environment which could lead to hefty fines and prosecutions. Rail Tech Group also recognises that it has a corporate social responsibility to hand the environment over to future generations in as good as or better shape than it is in now. In common with our other Safety and Quality commitments, we have set ourselves the goal of continually improving our Environmental performance. We do this as we appreciate that there are two major incentives for the company:
- Enhanced environmental conditions resulting from good practice which in turn improve Rail Tech's corporate profile.
- The avoidance of the costly implications of penalties for failing to meet environmental obligations.
Rail Tech integrates environmental considerations as part of its management processes. All our employees are required to maintain due care and consideration for the environment and act within a framework of environmental stewardship. To this end, we seek to comply with all legislation and codes of practice to enhance and protect the environment affected by its operations. Our environmental policy sets out the company's commitment to the achievement of these aims.
